DUI Checkpoint In Ontario California 10/22/2010

The Ontario police department will conduct a DUI and drivers license checkpoint on Friday October 20, 2010 at an undisclosed location in the city.

Police officers will be looking for impaired motorists and drivers without licenses according to a press release.

The checkpoint is being funded by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

The Ontario police department has urged the public to call 911 if they see a suspected drunk driver on the road.

It is never a good idea to drive under the influence of alcohol or drugs. People who do this endanger their lives as well as the lives of everyone else on the road. Also it can result in a DUI conviction and cause you to need an SR22.

If you plan to be driving in the Ontario area Friday night it is a good idea to have your drivers license, proof of auto insurance and valid registration in your vehicle. Doing so can help make things go quicker if you happen to end up having to go through the checkpoint.

If you do not have a drivers license, valid registration or insurance policy you should never drive on public streets as it is illegal and can result in your car being impounded. Also you may be charged fines that could exceed hundreds of dollars.
