DUI / License Checkpoint In Chino CA On 9/3/2010

Chino Police Department officers will be conducting a DUI and drivers license checkpoint starting at 9pm Sept. 3 and ending at 4am on Sept. 4. Officers will be checking in locations where there have been large numbers of alcohol related accidents and arrests.

Officers will be checking for signs of intoxication as well as valid driver’s licenses. Anyone who is found to be under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol will be detained. Those who are caught driving with out a valid license will have their vehicles towed.

If are going to be in the area on during this time be sure to have your drivers license, valid registration and proof of insurance coverage as these are all required to drive legally in California. Also if you are going to be drinking alcoholic beverages be sure to designate a driver. You should never get behind the wheel after drinking even if you feel that you are in good condition to drive.

The purpose of DUI checkpoints is to keep the streets safer by arresting dangerous drivers. Also it is a tactic to make people think twice before getting behind the wheel after they have been drinking. When they see others being arrested and having their cars impounded it leaves a lasting impression that will hopefully be remembered when making a decision of whether or not to drive when drunk.
